Analysis: Louisville sealed a commitment from St. Thomas Aquinas receiver Devante Peete two days before National Signing Day. Several schools were after Peete who eventually narrowed his options to Florida State and Louisville. With Peete, Louisville has another sizeable target to go with 2015 Flanagan receiver Emonee Spence, a former Miami commit, who also committed to Louisville.
Peete, who is part of a growing trend of sizable receivers in South Florida, is rated by 247 Sports as the 42nd best receiver in the nation. Rivals rates Peete as the No. 40 prospect in Florida. Because of his big frame, he was moved to tight end during Aquinas’ run to the Class 7A state championship. There’s a chance Peete could either stay at receiver or be moved to tight end once he gets on campus.
