Liz Alpert, an energy healer and jewelry designer, first saw the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull last June at an event in Sedona, Ariz.
“Since then I have felt a higher level of consciousness and things have been just happening for me,” she said. “I even bought my own skull from Brazil.”
The Crystal Skull, inspired by the movie “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” is carved from a block of pure quartz crystal.
It is an archaeological find discovered in the Mayan city of Lubaantun. From a spiritual perspective, it is believed that the skull helps to activate ancient wisdom and knowledge within human consciousness.
Alpert, of Miami, who met the skull’s owner, Bill Homann, back in June, said she recently contacted The Crystal Garden store in Boynton Beach to arrange a viewing and lecture of the skull Thursday.
Homann is the current caretaker of the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull. Anna Mitchell-Hedges spent the last eight years of her life living in Homann’s home under his care. She died April 11, 2008 at the age of 100.
Homann said it is his desire to continue to spread the word about the skull.
Margaret Ann Lembo, owner of The Crystal Garden, a gift shop and spiritual healing center, 2610 N. Federal Highway, said the showing of the skull would be too grand for her shop, so she arranged an event from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the Boynton Woman’s Club, 1010 S. Federal Highway.
Homann was recently featured on the Sci-Fi Channel’s documentary, “Mysteries of the Crystal Skulls with Lester Holt,” and will be giving an informative talk on the history of the skull at the presentation.
Alpert said the showing of the skull is rare and one of only two showings Homann would do this year, including one in France in June.
Since being gifted with the skull by Anna Mitchell-Hedges, Homann said he is fulfilling her request to share the skull to help bring peace and healing worldwide.
Lembo said the skull houses ancient wisdom and knowledge.
“If you actively have the intention to unlock and activate hidden wisdom inside you, the skull will release that in you,” she said. “It is a connection between you and the skull.”
She said the skull assists in raising consciousness to align your body, mind and spirit with ancient wisdom and knowledge, and that legends state there are only 13 original skulls.
She said the skull coming to Boynton Beach is one of the few authentic original skulls.
Homann said the first time he heard about the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull was when he was in the Air Force stationed at Panama in 1968. He said he thought it was strange that he couldn’t take his eyes from it.
Many years later, Homann heard about Anna Mitchell-Hedges and the Crystal Skull from friends in Chicago. He called her and set up an appointment to meet with her and the skull in 1981. The two became instant friends.
