Joshua Adams, long jump, Spanish River senior: Team captain earned top honors in the long jump at the FSU Relays in first meet back from hamstring injury; four-year varsity member; part of the school record 4×400 relay team; Columbia University commit ran 50.45 (400) and jumped 22-11 1/4 in long jump.

Collin Brooks

Collin Brooks, 1600/3200, Boca Raton senior: Stetson commit finished fifth at state in the 3,200 while battling an illness that landed him in the ER right after the race; school record-holder in 3,200 (9:11.34); ran 4:19.98 (1,600), 1:58.96 (800); district champ, regional runner-up in 3,200; improved time by 80 seconds in 3,200, 32 seconds in 1,600.

JaPrince Gaines

Japrince Gaines, 800, Spanish River senior: Called career highlight reaching Class 4A state meet in two events – the 4×800 and the 800 – placing ninth in the 4×800 and 15th in the 800;had personal bests of 1:57.31 (800) at the Florida Relays and 8:01.86 at state; also ran 4:43.08 in 1,600.

John Lyons

John Lyons, high jump, Seminole Ridge senior: Had personal-best jump of 5-11 1/2 in winning district title; went on to take sixth at regional; won conference title and also placed fourth in Palm Beach County meet.

Justin Mosley
Justin Mosley

Justin Mosley, 100/200, West Boca senior: School record holder in four events (100) 10.74, 200 (21.88), 4×100 relay (43.83) and 4×400 (3:24.27); overcame hip injury and lost year to Covid to win county titles in 100, 200 and 4×400 relays; plans to walk-on for track team at Hampton University; played point guard for basketball team.

Alexander Rosenthal, javelin, Spanish River junior: First-year track athlete qualified for states in javelin and became school record holder (154-11); placed 17th at state in event; won javelin, second in district in discus (121-3, PR), fifth in shot (39-8, PR), 14th in 100 (11.65, PR); played football, volleyball and weightlifted.

Ethan Schwartz

Ethan Schwartz, pole vault, Spanish River junior: Third-year varsity member was district champion and finished runner-up in the county meet; has a PR of 12-91/2 in the event; placed 10th at state; enjoyed mentoring new vaulters getting them excited about doing something potentially difficult and scary; also plays tennis.

Nicolas West
Nicolas West

Nicolas West, 110/300 hurdles, Spanish River junior: Four-time AAU All-American and three-year varsity member and team captain; holds three individual school records in 300 hurdles (37.83), 110 hurdles (14.77) and 400 (49.60); was 2021 Sun Sentinel Boys 4A-3A runner of the year; third at state in 300 hurdles and 11th in 110 hurdles; won county, district, and region titles in 300 hurdles and district champion in 110-hurdles.

Jabari Williams, 400/triple jump, Wellington senior: All-purpose athlete won regional championship in triple jump with career-best 45-4; took sixth at state in event and followed that up with 11th-place finish at state in 400 (49.25), another PR; also, fourth at county; school record-holder in 400.

Corey Bouie

Corey Bouie, 400, Park Vista senior: Finished 10th at Class 4A state meet in the 400 and had his personal-best clocking of 48.71 when he placed third in the regionals; was fifth at the county meet in 400 and won district championship.

Caleb Gregoire

Caleb Gregoire, discus, Seminole Ridge senior: Captured district, region titles in discus, including a personal-best 143-8 in winning district; placed 15th at Class 4A state meet for the Hawks.

Lopez Lumaine
Lopez Lumaine

Lopez Lumaine, 100/200, Atlantic senior: Four-year varsity member overcame a high ankle sprain and hamstring injury to run a 10.78 (100) and 22.03 (200); also has a best time of 51.44 (400); member of county’s best 4×100 relay team; also plays football.

Ryan Rudnet

Ryan Rudnet, shot put, Park Vista senior: Finished ninth in state in shot put; second at regional with a personal best 48-9 throw; was fourth at county in shot; also threw discus (117-3) for third-place finish at district and placed 10th in regional.
