Why you’re running for this office: I love the city of Lighthouse Point. When I was able to purchase my home almost 10 years ago, it was a dream come true to live here. My career in small business and as a financial coach gives me strong skills with regards to finances, budgeting, and working with others to accomplish goals. I want to bring my skills and strengths to the city because as great as Lighthouse Point is, I believe it can be even better.

If you chose to run against an incumbent, why? I believe it is time for fresh insight and new leadership on the commission.

Describe your city and/or your district as you would to someone who has never visited.

Lighthouse Point is one of the best-kept secrets in south Florida. It maintains a small-town feel amid the hustle and bustle of the rest of Broward County. It is a beautiful city with tree-lined streets and wonderful waterways throughout. Neighbors know their neighbors, and the sidewalks are always busy with people walking and enjoying the city.

What are the top three issues facing your city or district? Fairly and efficiently managing development within the city; dealing with infrastructure age and condition; and the proliferation of transient rentals.

How would you assess the performance of city government and what grade would you give city government and why? I would give the city government a B. Lighthouse Point is a wonderful community and we are blessed to enjoy its many assets. That said, we need our leadership to set better policy which will lessen the burden of local government on individuals and families, streamline the permitting process, mitigate transient rentals, and improve our city in a more efficient manner.

Is there anything you want us to know about your opponent(s)? No answer

Is there anything that we didn’t ask about that you would like to raise? No answer

Is there anything about yourself that we didn’t ask about that would embarrass you if an opponent found out? No

Why should voters vote for you? We need fresh voices on the commission who can represent everyday Lighthouse Point residents. I bring a strong, fiscal background that will help keep our great city on a strong fiscal path for years to come.

How much money have you raised? $6,925 through Feb. 4, 2022.
